Half Devil Half Child

A good expose of the Insider Movement in Bangladesh
I had to watch this documentary twice to grasp all its content. The documentary does a great job interviewing various Muslims who are either Muslim Background Believers (true Christian) or who are Muslim Insiders (Chrislam). One Muslim familiar with the Insider Movement is interviewed. You hear the agony of one Muslim Insider who feels like he is not quite Christian or Muslim and feels trapped between both religions. He is a perfect example of Chrislam. A couple of Muslim Background Believers (Christian) pastors are interviewed and they loathe the Insider Movement. Toward the end of the documentary Michael Horton and Jeff Morton, both missiologists, critique the Insider Movement and reveal it to be what it is, syncretism of Christianity and Islam. The Insider Movement is a postmodern method producing followers of Chrislam.

a Caricature of Contextualization
This "documentary" is replete with contradictions. It attempts to indict contextual ministries by elaborating on a few specific cases that are neither contextual nor ministerial. By using tragic cases of extortion fueled by colonialistic mindsets it manipulates the viewer and demonizes a great many faithful pastors around the world that are using skillful contextualization to bear authentic fruitful ministries.
